ESPN 3 Sports Commentators

"This is the first time Nadal is wearing a wrist-watch in a match."

This was said by one of the commentators during Nadal's second round match at the 2014 Australian Open. Are you SERIOUS? Where on Earth has this commentator been in the last 4 years? I'm not 100% sure of the exact date but it's safe to say Nadal started wearing a Richard Mille brand luxury watch in 2010. Is it not part of the job for a commentator to follow the trends of the athletes they discuss, especially in this age of advanced technology of Twitter, Facebook, online news articles, blogs, sites dedicated to these athletes they get paid to talk about? I swear, how do these commentators keep their jobs? It might be a shame that there might be many other people in the world dedicated to the world of tennis and tennis popular culture who could comment on a game with information that's not out of date. These type of commentators also make THE most obvious observations of a tennis match anyone who doesn't know anything about tennis can also make. They basically describe everything they see instead of analyzing the players including the ones they're actually watching and others outside of the match, game, crowd, weather, etc. WHERE IS JOHN McENROE WHEN YOU NEED HIM TO COMMENTATE ON A TENNIS MATCH?!
